The type of personal information we collect 

We currently collect and process the following information. Personal identifiers such as:

• Full Name
• Phone Number
• Email Address
• Employer Name
• Photographic Government ID (For identity verification purposes)
• Membership eligibility data (I.e., letter’s that confirm eligibility from employers etc)
• Membership status (I.e., active, pending, barred etc)
• Date and time you sign in to the bar

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• To be compliant with our conditions of licensing
• To provide a safe environment for our members
  
  

We do not receive personal information indirectly from sources like:  

• 3rd party trackers and analytics services
  
  

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

• Provide membership facilities, such as venue sign-in and account administration
  
  

Our team will access your data in order to carry out certain administration tasks via an independent biometrical-secure device, which never leaves the venue’s premises. 

We never share this information with 3rd parties, unless required to do so by law.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us.

(c) We have a legal obligation.

(f) We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information 

Your information is securely stored. We store your information on Amazon Web Services using the ISO/IEC 27001 standards for Information security management.

Your information is located within the United Kingdom, and is not transported or shared with any other country.

We keep specific membership information such as “membership eligibility” data for 6 months, at which point you need to inform us about where you currently work, if you wish to keep your membership active. 

All other data is retained for 2 years, or until such a time you wish to exercise your “right to erasure”.

We will then dispose your information by securely removing your data from the servers.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
